The ward extension project had a range of challenges that comes with working in an existing hospital. Maintaining uninterrupted hospital operations was a priority, together with staging of carpark works to maintain customer experiences.
The project team delivered the project successfully with little disruption to the hospital. Clear regular communications with the hospital team was one of the key successes of the delivery. With two weeks to finish before Level 4 COVID-19 restrictions were introduced, the team continued to complete the works as an essential service incase the additional beds were required for COVID patients.
